Our Vision
Improving Lives for Safer Communities
Missouri Vocational Enterprises (MVE) is a program within the Division of Offender Rehabilitative Services under the Missouri Department of Corrections. Established by State Statute [ State Statute (RSMo 217.550)] MVE was created to provide meaningful job training and vocational experience to incarcerated individuals.
Through hands-on work, MVE combines the efforts of resident workers, skilled supervisors, and dedicated administrative staff to produce high-quality products and services for state agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and current or retired state employees.
What makes MVE unique is its self-sustaining model: we operate on a working capital revolving fund and do not receive any tax dollars from the state’s general revenue.
Our primary mission is to instill personal responsibility, develop transferable skills, and increase employability, both during incarceration and after release. By doing so, we support rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and help individuals successfully reintegrate into their communities.
MVE currently operates 21 industries and services across 12 correctional institutions throughout Missouri. Over the past 50+ years, the program has evolved through continual improvement, growth, and innovation.
We take pride in the quality of what we make, but our greatest achievement is helping residents build a better future.
When you purchase from MVE, you become a partner in transformation.
Your support helps sustain a proven program that empowers individuals through opportunity, skill development, and second chances. Together, we are changing lives; Training Today for a Successful Tomorrow.
